London 14th March 2007. The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the leading global hedge fund and alternative investment industry association today announced that it will respond to new IOSCO valuation proposals.

Following on IOSCO’s release of a Consultation Report on the Principles for the Valuation of Hedge Fund Portfolios, AIMA has responded positively to the Report and its contents.

AIMA will also be issuing its Guide to Sound Practices for Hedge Fund Valuation next week which will include 15 Recommendations for the industry and its investors. The Guide will be shared with all regulators, fiscal and governmental authorities on its release and demonstrates the proactive role that the hedge fund industry has taken on this and other topics.

Commenting on the IOSCO report, AIMA Director Emma Mugridge, said, “We are pleased to see that IOSCO’s proposed principles are along the same lines as our own Recommendations. We will be working closely with our members to formulate a constructive response to IOSCO’s proposals. We believe that the concerted effort by the industry and regulatory community sets a fine example of sound cooperation, which works to the benefit of all.”
